John Deere Equipped-Fast and Efficient.
Dennis Zillig Owner & Operator. I am sole owner of "Approved Septic Systems".
under and of a Corporation: " Dennis Zillig Inc."
ps: "I hate taking pictures"
1. Over 35 Years in New Home Construction and Septic Installation Experience.................................
2. Licensed to Install Both the Standard & Advanced Septic Systems...................................................
3. Missouri Lic. #-36490 ......Arkansas Lic. #-1248450...........................................................................
4. 35 Years in not only top side projects, but...! Many Under-Ground Engineering Big Dig Projects..!!
You can avoid the expense of hiring a septic designer and excavator, but don't let friends convince you that theseWhy We Recommend To NOT DO it Yourself..!!!
jobs are without value. Be aware that like buying property this aspect of homesteading, if not handled with cold reason and great care, could ruin "A Special Family Dinner" and many restful nights sleep.
Doing anything yourself can be heroic or crazy depending on the outcome. With more years spent designing site layouts and septic systems in the scenic countryside,...
I have seen more than one home-site ruined forever by sloppy excavation, poor water well placement and the dozens of other pitfalls, Thoroughly ruining an owners Dreams..
Homeowners can save money and prove to their friends that they have mastered this aspect of house construction. However, be warned that a few down days with a
rented backhoe can quickly eat up any anticipated saving by doing-it-yourself. Remember also that digging up a power line and darkening your block cannot only embarrass
you but it could cost you more in repairs than your entire project budget.
The skills of an experienced septic designer or excavator increase in value with smaller sites and in poor soil conditions.
If you know in your heart that you lack these skills, don't risk your peace-of-mind.
FIRST....."WHAT I DO"
A Site Evaluation.
1. This is a Design & Engineered system by an experienced Installer.
2. It will Require in a SOIL EVALUATION by a Qualified Trained Expert.
( Perculation Tests are-No Longer Allowed.)
I Recommend Mrs. Amy Henson, She is owner and a partner with her
husband Mr. Carter Henson of "Henson Septic Tank" supply.
She is a State of Missouri Approved Soil Evaluater, highly qualified
They are both excellent in our support of clients questions and assist me
when Home Owners are sometimes anxious about the level of quality they
anticipate and we assure 100% Satisfaction Guarantees to all our clients.
I recommend Ms.Linda Mayo, she is highly qualified.
Arkansas is somewhat different than the State of Missouri when it comes to Health Dept
regulations and Health Codes.
Ms Linda Mayo does both the onsite "SOIL EVALUATION" and she provides excellent
Design services for you our clients and submits these field designs to the Health Dept.
[ A Digger will come with these evaluation with a 48"-60" pit for this evaluation.]
3. After a Soils Report is Completed...it goes to the local Health Dept for Approval.
With Cadd Design and layout of your Home Site:
4. Typical Health Dept Fee is $75-$90.00 collected at time of contract to build.
5. A CADD Design is produced with:
a.) Plot plan or SITE layout. Usually set to 30ft per Inch Scale.
b.) Setbacks are verified. (Fences and common knowledge.)
c.) Wells and water supply sources verified.( Health Code requires min setback from Septic Systems)
d.) Driveways, Barns, Home and bedroom count & persons occupying, utilities
and any underground activities.
THEN I GO TO WORK ON SITE....................With one of the following...
Vault Type Field:
Both the wide and tall type.
Typical Vault Type Trench
Installers usually prefer the vaults over creekrock once they have tried them. ( We like Them)
Most health jurisdictions are recognizing the value and efficiency of the vault technology and
the use of vaults is becoming widespread across the USA. Gravel is used for geology
reasons and can be cheaper particularly if the job is close to the supply. Gravel is also used if
livestock or vehicular traffic could invade the drainfield. Drainrock is a little more robust than most vaults.
Also, some health inspectors give "credit" for the increased storage capacity of the vaults over
gravel systems. Each foot of standard vault in the ground yields around 1.0 gallons of
storage. A linear foot of 2-3 ft wide gravel trench is less than half of that even with
the best quality drainrock. You may get 375-400 Sq Ft of "credit" for our trench that actually contains
only 300 Sq Ft of ground. This will save space on a tight site......
COMMENTS FROM THE MANUFACTURER...!!
Chambers are formed from a series of arched, injection-molded plastic vaults that snap together. While products vary among manufacturers,
a typical chamber is 20 to 40 inches wide, six feet long, and one foot high. Special end sections connect with feed piping, typically 4" PVC.
The sides of each chamber have louvers to allow wastewater to seep into the surrounding soil. Because effluent flows freely into the space formed
by the parallel rows of chambers, it spreads over much of the trench floor. In conventional systems, by contrast, effluent preferentially discharges
from the first holes in the perforated pipes, creating biomat buildup and saturation near the entrance. No "masking" occurs from superimposed gravel,
and the biomat at the floor of the chamber is fully in contact with ample oxygen. If effluent builds up within the chamber, some of it can escape
through the sidewalls, which accounts for the increased effectiveness of chambers relative to gravel trenches. Narrower, higher chambers are
available that substitute more side-wall absorption for less ground area. These designs typically require the same length of trench as a conventional system.
The effectiveness of chamber leach fields can be increased by using a dosage system. In this design, a small pipe with 1/8" diameter holes is
suspended or supported on blocks within the vault, designed to evenly distribute the effluent. A holding tank with a filter collects effluent, which
is pumped into the chambers when the tank is full by a small pump for about 3 minutes, typically about six times a day. This system distributes
effluent evenly over the floor and walls of the chambers. Dosing may reduce the required depth of soil under the chambers.
"Laboratory and field testing over the past fifteen years support the use of chamber systems as a viable alternative to gravel leach fields."
Its Our #1 Favorite Material for Our Clients....
Simple ..Its purely productive. Much less the cost of CreekRock and 3x more productive.
Example: A 12" Trenck of rock provides 12" of Leach field . BUT...!!! A 12" Section of EZ-FLO
Provides 24" of Value or double the productivity...Neat Huh..?
Our Product photo at left above is from our supplier " Henson Septic Suppliers" in Neosho.
A 100 foot trench can be reduced to a 50 foot trench. This has become our favorite product.
The D-Box...& Devices...
Typical Distribution Box.
Cannot live without it.
From The Septic Tank this acts as a vital junction for the clear or gray water flow or effluent waste water. Each
section sends equal flow volume to each lateral line or trench. ( Must be kept equal.)
Keeps the process productive,....and remember we are doing something that requires experience, this box must always be set in a leveling product
such as course #33 sand or "QuickCrete" products so to cause the box to never move and lose its level to grade.
When this box has been found years down the road , to have been moved from its level position, it always causes leach problems, or even a leach
field to fail. Something to think about..eh..??
